Alexandrinsky Theatre
The magnificent building of the Imperial Alexandrinsky Theatre, built by Karl Ivanovich Rossi, is part of the famous ensemble of Ostrovsky Square and Zodchego Rossi Street. In honor of the wife of Emperor Nicholas I, Alexandra Feodorovna, the building received the name Alexandrinsky Theatre. The Alexandrinsky Theatre building is a masterpiece of world theatre architecture and is protected by UNESCO.
In 2013, Valery Vladimirovich Fokin became the artistic director of the Alexandrinsky Theatre.
