Alexandrinsky Theatre

Alexandrinsky Theatre
The magnificent building of the Imperial Alexandrinsky Theater, built by Karl Ivanovich Rossi, is part of the famous ensemble of Ostrovsky Square and Architect Rossi Street. The magnificent auditorium of the historic theater building, decorated with gilded carvings, crimson silk and velvet, is a must–see place when you find yourself in St. Petersburg.

In honor of the wife of Emperor Nicholas I, Alexandra Feodorovna, the building is named the Alexandrinsky Theater. The Alexandrinsky Theatre building is a masterpiece of world theatrical architecture, protected by UNESCO.

In 2013, Valery Vladimirovich Fokin became the artistic director of the Alexandrinsky Theater.
