The Mariinsky Theatre
Today, the Mariinsky Theatre is a unique theatre and concert complex in terms of its creative and educational capabilities: alongside the historic building of the Mariinsky Theatre, built in 1860 to a design by Antonio Rinaldi, and the Concert Hall, opened in 2006, the Mariinsky-2 – the new stage of the Mariinsky Theatre – opened its doors in 2013. This centre has reaffirmed with renewed strength the status of the Mariinsky Theatre as the world's largest cultural institution.
