The Upper Garden in Peterhof
Recently, the Upper Garden opened in the Peterhof Museum-Reserve after comprehensive scientific restoration.
The Upper Garden was conceived by Peter I as the most important part of the water supply system for Peterhof's fountains – it is here that the main pipeline runs, feeding the fountains in the central part of the Lower Park and directly Samson.
As a result, visitors can now see the restored historical composition of the formal Upper Garden from the late 18th century, according to the axonometric plans by Pierre Antoine de Saint-Hilaire.
